How we work
At Primrose Homecare, our approach is born from a deeply personal mission to provide the high-quality, reliable care that our Knighton and further Powys community truly deserves. We understand that we are stepping into your world, and we do so with the utmost respect for your home, your routines, and your independence
While we pride ourselves on this personal touch, our care is built on professional foundations, including ISO certifications and a partnership to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and governance. Our goal is to provide a comfort blanket of reassurance, ensuring that you and your family feel supported, heard, and empowered every single day
Helping hands with whatever life looks like for you
No two people are the same, and neither is the care we provide. Whether you need support with the everyday essentials or simply a friendly face to brighten the day, our range of services is designed to fit around your life. Here’s just some of the ways we support local families every day.
Personal Care & Wellbeing
Dignified, respectful support with the everyday essentials, from washing and dressing to continence care. We take the time to understand your routines, so every morning and evening feels familiar, comfortable and entirely your own.
Dementia Care
Caring for someone living with dementia takes patience, understanding and a truly personal touch. Our specially trained team provides thoughtful, empathetic support, and our monthly community group offers a warm space for both individuals and their families to connect.
Domestic & Social Support
From keeping the home tidy and preparing a favourite meal, to accompanying you to appointments or a trip out, we take care of the everyday so you can stay independent, active and connected to the life you enjoy.
Night Care & 24/7 Reassurance
Whether you need a waking night carer, a sitting service or simply the comfort of knowing someone is close by, we're here through the night too. Our out-of-hours line means qualified, caring support is never more than a phone call away, because care is full-time.
Not to mention the smaller things that make big differences…
-
Taking the right medication at the right time, every time. We handle the daily routine safely and carefully, giving you and your family complete peace of mind.
-
Sometimes the most important thing we can offer is simply good company. Whether it's a chat over a cup of tea or a walk in the fresh air, we're here for the moments that matter just as much as the practical ones.
-
Life doesn't stop at the front door. We'll accompany you to the local shops, a favourite café or somewhere further afield, keeping you connected to your community.
-
From your regular GP to the dentist or a hospital visit, we'll get you there and stay by your side throughout, so you never have to face an appointment alone.
-
A warm, nutritious meal made just the way you like it. We take care of the shopping, the cooking and the washing up, so mealtimes stay something to look forward to.
-
A clean and tidy home makes such a difference to how you feel. We take care of the everyday household tasks quietly and efficiently, keeping your space just the way you like it.
-
We know how much your pet means to you. From filling the food bowl to a trip to the vets, we make sure your four-legged companion is looked after just as well as you are
-
Whether it's picking up a prescription, popping to the post office or doing the weekly shop, we'll take care of the little jobs that keep daily life running smoothly.

FAQs
-
We believe that feeling rushed is the last thing you should ever experience during a care visit, which is why we have a minimum 30-minute visit policy across all of our care calls. For more involved support such as personal care or showering, visits are typically scheduled for a full hour, giving us the time to do things properly and at a pace that suits you.
-
Getting started is simpler than you might think, and we'll guide you through every step. Give our office a call and have a chat so we can understand your situation. From there, we’ll will visit you at home to carry out a personal assessment at no obligation. If you're looking for council-funded support, we can also help you navigate the Powys ASSIST portal and take care of the paperwork, so the process is as smooth and stress-free as possible.
-
Familiarity matters deeply to us. Through our Key Worker approach, we assign a consistent core group of carers to each person we support - carefully matched on personality and interests as well as care needs. Over time, your team will come to know your routines, your preferences and the little things that make your day, building a relationship built on genuine trust.
-
We understand that worry doesn't keep office hours, so neither do we. Every Primrose client has access to a dedicated mobile number monitored by a qualified member of our team from 5pm through to 9am. Whether you need reassurance, advice or urgent help, there's always a real person at the end of the line, no matter the hour.
-
Your safety and peace of mind are at the heart of everything we do. Before care begins, every new client receives a Meet the Team handbook with photos and personal bios of the staff they'll be seeing, so there are no unfamiliar faces at the door. Every one of our carers carries an official ID badge, is fully DBS checked and is registered with Social Care Wales, so you can always feel completely confident in the people caring for you.
