Primrose Homecare was established in 2023 and opened its doors in June 2024. Our founder Mandy found herself in a situation that so many Powys families will recognise. Trying to find reliable, consistent, local care for her own mother-in-law, she came up against the same frustrations time and again - agencies that came and went, faces that changed, and a community that deserved so much better - so she decided to do something about it. Together with Leah, Mandy built Primrose Homecare from the ground up with a simple belief: that people in Knighton and the surrounding areas deserved a care provider they could genuinely count on. One that felt local, personal and permanent.

Mandy Fowkes
Registered Manager & Responsible Individual
Mandy brings over 30 years of experience in the care sector to Primrose - from supporting children with complex needs and adults with learning disabilities, to managing a residential care home. She holds a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, and her depth of knowledge and genuine warmth set the tone for everything Primrose stands for.
Primrose was born from Mandy's own experience of trying to find good local care for a family member - and that personal understanding of what families go through shapes every decision she makes.
Leah Price
Director & Care Co-ordinator
With 20 years of experience across a wide range of care settings, Leah is the organisational heartbeat of Primrose. She is passionate about domiciliary care that truly listens to the choices, values and beliefs of every individual, and ensures that the care each person receives reflects who they are, not just what they need.
Leah is often the first voice you'll hear when you get in touch, and she takes great pride in making that first conversation feel as easy and reassuring as possible.
